Case study: Perfect recycled hillside path

This project in the hard-to-reach area in the mountains of Nice is a perfect example of how the CR300 Crusher can make lightwork of a potentially difficult and dangerous job.

Spending your days on the hillside in the beautiful Nice area of the South of France might sound like a dream! But perhaps not so much when you need to lay a new sewer maintenance path.

To ensure easy maintenance, this landowner wanted to a stable and safe path uphill alongside the 2km long sewer pipe. To achieve this, the CR300 Crusher was helicoptered to the hillside and dropped off at the start of the pipeline. At under 800Kg, and with perfectly balanced twin lifting points, this was a simple and safe task for the pilot.

Working over a distance of 2km, and on very rough terrain, the CR300 and its all-terrain tracks worked continuously to crush all the rubble, stone and debris alongside the pipe using the smallest 20mm jaw setting.

The crushed material was deposited from the crusher chute directly back into the ground, creating a perfect recycle path. Not only did this greatly reduce the cost of building the path as no new material was required, but it was also immeasurably quicker, as the old stone did not need to be taken down the hillside, and new stone bought back up.
