I bought my Dragon CR450 Diesel Crusher back in July 2025, and it’s fair to say it’s been busy ever since. I’ve been in the crushing game for a long time, and I know a solid bit of kit when I see one - and this one’s a cracker.

The CR450 is compact, powerful, and designed and built right here in the UK, which really makes a difference. It means all the back-up, parts, and servicing are done in the UK too. If I ever need anything, I can just pick up the phone and speak directly to the Dragon Equipment team - not that I’ve had any issues so far!

At under 1,500Kg, it’s easy to move around. I can track it straight onto my trailer and tow it behind my pickup with no trouble. The 33-litre fuel tank goes a long way - most hirers can get a full day (or more) of crushing out of one tank, which keeps things simple and efficient.

Maintenance is a breeze too. There’s just one grease point to hit each day, and if I ever need to do more, all the guards come off easily, giving me full access to the Kubota engine and everything else. It’s been well thought-out and built for people who actually use these machines day in, day out.

I mostly hire the crusher out for week-long jobs at £850 per week, though I do offer day hires at £275 and weekend hires at £450–£500. On average, the crusher’s out on hire three weeks out of every four, so it’s earning its keep! So far, it’s clocked up over 230 hours, and it’s still going strong - no complaints from me or my customers.

People are often shocked by how much this compact crusher can get through in a day. It might be small, but it doesn’t hold back. I’m actually at the point now where I’m thinking about getting a second CR450, just to keep up with the demand.

All in all, the Dragon Equipment CR450 Diesel Crusher has been a great investment - reliable, easy to run, and backed up by a great UK team. Can’t ask for much more than that.
